The WSOP director, Gary Thompson, announced the date for next year's grand event, and the excitement is high. The WSOP is the biggest event in the world of online casinos poker and land-based poker as well. Although the announcement was a festive one, Thompson also expresses his concern over the current situation at the online casinos industry.

Buying a seat at the World Series of Poker is not an easy. The price is very high, and there are many people trying to get a seat at the table. In past years, many online casinos players earned a seat by participating at satellite contest arranged by online casinos. Players would go online, and win at an online poker tournament where the prize was a seat at the WSOP. With new Unlawful Internet Gambling Act, it is unclear how many satellite poker tournaments will be offered at the online casinos, and Thompson is worried about the number of qualifiers.

However, a quick look at the online casinos community will show that there are already sites that offer such tournament for online casinos players. Perhaps some online casinos are trying to get the attention of players, before online gambling enforcement goes into full scale. Thompson said that nothing has changed in their policy, and that the qualifiers from online casino sites working with U.S. residents were not accepted in prior years as well.
